Consistent Color and Sizing
Natural mulch tends to change color as it ages.  The color in the middle of the pile may be different than the color on the edge of the pile.
Designer Mulch does not change color as it ages.

The wood used in Designer Mulch is screened, inspected, shredded and screened again before it is introduced to the colorizing system resulting in a very consistent product offering.
The size of the mulch & bark offered by most processors is determined by the screen openings in their grinder.  All grinders produce oversized material that will remain in the finished mulch if the processor does not screen after they grind.

Non-Toxic to Plants and Animals
The colorant used in Designer Mulch is specially formulated to be non-toxic to plants and animals.  It is the safest, most effective way to add beauty to your landscape.
Designer Mulch is Made of Wood, Not Bark

Ants, beetles, slugs and termites love natural bark.  Designer Mulch is predominantly made from kiln dried lumber and engineered products so it is much less likely to contain weed seeds, and bugs typically found in bark products.
Designer Mulch does not have the fine bark dust that gets into your skin causing irritation.
Mulch is Simply an Organic Matter Applied Over the Root Zone of a Tree

The larger the mulch area, the better it is for the tree.

Mulch acts as a blanket to hold moisture, protect against harsh soil temperatures, help prevent mechanical injury from mowers and string trimmers and reduce competition from grass and weeds.
A 2 to 4 inch layer is ideal.
